Honda Mall of Georgia: The Fit stays in shape

The award-winning Honda Fit has returned for 2013 with an upgraded interior, new standard features and a new exterior color. Coming off a 2012 campaign that saw the Fit win the "16,000 Subcompact Shootout" and being named as a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS, the 2013 Fit looks to earn more awards like being named to Car and Driver magazine's "10Best Cars" list again.

The satisfaction begins with the 1.5-liter, i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, producing 117 horsepower at 6,600 rpm. The Fit's standard transmission is a five-speed manual with five-speed automatic transmission available. The Fit Sport models allow for manual gear shifting with the available automatic transmission through steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters. The EPA city/highway/combined fuel economy rating of the automatic transmission is 28/35/31 mpg. The Fit Sport automatic models are rated at 27/33/30 mpg while the manual Fit models are rated at 27/33/29 mpg.

Turning radius and small parking spaces are no worries for anyone driving the Fit, which has a turning diameter of 34.4 feet curb-to-curb, according to Honda.

At just over 13 feet long, the Fit may seem small on the outside but has enough inside room to comfortably seat five passengers in 90.8 cubic feet of passenger volume. With a 60/40 split rear Magic Seat, plenty of seating and cargo combinations are available. The seat can also fold flat into the floor, providing 57.3 cubic feet of rear cargo volume, Honda says.

Standard features include air condition, cruise control, remote entry, a 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system, a USB interface an auxiliary audio input jack, MP3/WMA playback capability, Radio Data System, power windows, power mirrors, power door locks and a security system, according to Honda.

The Fit was named a Top Safety Pick last year and this year standard safety equipment includes Vehicle Stability Assist, Advanced Compatibility Engineering, dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags, front-side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System and side curtain airbags.

The Fit Sport model takes the newest model over the top with new features and amenities ranging from fog lights to an underbody kit, rear roofline spoiler and chromed exhaust. The Fit Sport also has six speakers and illuminated steering-wheel mounted audio controls to power the 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system. Console ambient lighting, dark metallic dashboard components, chrome accents and upgraded seat fabric are all you need to get the party going in your Fit Sport. In addition, the Fit Sport includes a 6.5-inch screen, 16 GB of flash memory and the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Recognition.

This car packs a punch for its size with the standard features you want inside and a new Midnight Plum Pearl paint outside. Come in to Honda Mall of Georgia today to check out the new Fit, starting at just $15,325!
